About me

I am Marta Miñarro Rodríguez, predoctoral researcher at the Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales (MNCN). My thesis focuses on the exhaustive study of Barbourula busuangensis, a frog endemic to the province of Palawan in the Philippines. After much fieldwork and subsequent data analysis, we have been able to reveal many aspects of its population dynamics, as well as previously unknown behaviours. In addition, we have described its song and are in the process of publishing its rare breeding behaviour. With all this, we aim to make a significant contribution to the knowledge of this unique species. Beyond science, I love going to the countryside to go hiking or honestly looking for frogs, travelling, board games and of course having a beer at the MCNC Megatheatre with my colleagues.
