Sebastián Thompson
About me
Sebastián Thompson Parga is a researcher at IMDEA Nanoscience Institute, with and an exceptional and international professional career.
He holds a PhD in Chemistry from New York University (CUNY), where he completed his training after graduating in Chemistry from the University of Buenos Aires.
He has been a postdoctoral researcher or professor at the CNIO (Madrid), Hunter College - CUNY (USA), Northwestern University (USA) and the Institute of Photonic Sciences (Barcelona). He was also a Marie Curie Fellow at the University of Coimbra.
At IMDEA Nanoscience, he is doing research in a field with many practical applications, especially in medicine: Intracellular temperature measurements (temperature inside the cell).
In his spare time he likes practicing Aikido and running half marathons, in which he has unfortunately never reached the finish line in less than two hours. Although, the list of races in which he has participated is enviable: Buenos Aires, New York, Barcelona and Madrid.
