Nazaret Ocaña de Nova

About me

Hi! I'm Nazaret Ocaña, biologist by profession and passion. I majored in in biodiversity conservation and ecology. I am extremely curious and restless and that has led me to explore many areas of knowledge at a professional level. The bulk of my career has been very focused on animal ecology and ethology, especially primates. Over the las few years I have been immersed in soil ecology of arid zones, forests, crop fields and mining areas, up until now, when I am exploring the world of urban agriculture as a senior graduate thanks to the Madreenroof project. When I take off my lab coat the science continues, as I am a member of ASBioGetafe, an association in which I conduct several research projects focused on conservation and in which I also develop activities of environmental education and science dissemination in my municipality, Getafe. In my spare time, I love to put on my hiking boots, take my binoculars and and my bat-detector and explore the countryside surrounding me.
I am also passionate about art in all its forms, I love visiting museums and looking at paintings, going to the theater, reading, watching movies, going to concerts or dance recitals, traveling and... cats!
