About me

My research revolves around the 19th-20th centuries international relations between the two sides of the Atlantic Ocean, particularly in the Caribbean Sea, where both rising and declining imperial powers were fighting each other by means of diplomacy rather than warfare. These international rivalries arose mainly from geostrategic as well as economic and commercial interests. Prior to my current position, I worked at the Dominican Republic’s National Archives as a research coordinator, and I have been a professor at IE University and UNIR, both in Madrid, as well as at Universidad Iberoamericana, Universidad Católica Santo Domingo, and Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra, all of of them in Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republic’s capital city.
Hobbies: art, reading, writing, music, cinema, theatre, travelling, swimming, and hiking, among other activities I like to practise in my free time.
