About me
I am María Martínez Ríos, Doctor. in Biology and current postdoctoral fellow on the project Distribution of protist diversity at the interface between marine and freshwater ecosystems (BEACH) in the research group “Hidden biodiversity: evolution, ecology and conservation” of the Department of Mycology. The main objectives of this project are to understand and compare the structure and biogeographic patterns of communities of the thecate amoeba family Cyphoderiidae (as a model organism within protists) of freshwater and marine ecosystems. In addition to loving the world of microbiology so much, in my free time I love going out into the countryside to enjoy nature, whether doing a good mountain route or a good snorkel in the sea.
