About me
I am a professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy at San Pablo CEU University. Since childhood, I have always been very interested in understanding how things happen and how we can solve them. This led me to study Pharmacy at San Pablo CEU University, where I discovered my passion for research, focusing on the brain and neuroscience. I hold a degree in Pharmacy and a PhD in Pharmacology with International Mention from San Pablo CEU University (USP-CEU) in Madrid. During my doctoral thesis, I completed two international stays at the University of Surrey (UK) in 2015 and the University of Illinois in Chicago (USA) in 2016, which allowed me to gain different perspectives on neuroscience in an international context. In 2017, I joined the Neuroimaging Department at King's College London (London, UK) as a postdoctoral researcher, where I focused on neuroimaging as a tool to understand and diagnose diseases. During this period, I participated in two international projects funded by GlaxoSmithKline, including the Wellcome Trust Consortium for the Neuroimmunology of Mood Disorders and Alzheimer's Disease (NIMA). Currently, I combine teaching and research duties at San Pablo CEU University and am part of the recognized research group Neuropharmacology of Addictions and Degenerative Disorders (NEUROFAN) https://neurofan.ceu.es/ at San Pablo CEU University. I also serve as the deputy director of the University Institute of Addiction Studies (IEA-CEU) https://iea.ceu.es/.
