About me

Jorge García Lacuna was awarded his B.Pharm at Universidad San Pablo-CEU (Spain) in 2016, which included a course in clinical trials at the University of Chicago. Moreover, He continued to pursue his Ph.D. under the supervision of Prof. Javier Pérez Castells and Prof. Gema Dominguez Martín. Subsequently, he obtained his PhD degree (2021) in the Organometallics group under the direction of Professor Javier Pérez Castells and Professor Gema Domínguez Martín, Furthermore, his Ph.D. included 4 months internship in Prof. O. Kappe group working in multiphasic reactions in flow. After that, he carried out a two-year postdoctoral stay in the group of Dr. Marcus Baumann in Dublin (Ireland) thanks to a Ramón Areces fellowship. Currently, he is a PhD collaborating professor at the San Pablo CEU University, where he combines his research and teaching work, teaching both organic chemistry and pharmaceutical chemistry.
His research focuses on the use of flow chemistry to improve and develop new catalytic processes for drug synthesis. During both his doctoral period as a postdoc, he has worked in various branches of organic synthesis, such as photochemistry, gas handling under continuous conditions, and organometallics. In addition, he has work in partnership with the pharmaceutical industry in several projects. To date, he has published more than 10 publications in high impact journals and has presented numerous times at international and national conferences.
