María José López Caro
About me
I am a predoctoral researcher at the University of Alcalá (UAH). My doctoral thesis is based on the study of forests affected by drought in the Iberian Peninsula due to climate change, using remote sensing. Previously, I completed a Master's in Geographic Information Technologies at UAH and graduated in Tourism from the University of Almería (UAL).
I began my research journey thanks to various scholarships during my undergraduate and master's studies. I also had the opportunity to experience different educational systems through mobility scholarships. I firmly believe that such initiatives are essential for inspiring research and scientific vocations in young people, as well as providing them with valuable skills for their career development. Therefore, in addition to my own research, I am interested in teaching, scientific outreach, and raising awareness about the visibility of women, especially in science.
I combine my academic career with active participation in the music scene of Alcalá de Henares through the "UAH University Choir," the "Coro Excisión," and playing cello.
