About me

In the academic field, I am a Professor of Cell Biology and Histology at the Faculty of Medicine of Universidad Complutense de Madrid, and in the scientific field, I have been researching for years in the area of Immunology. I specialized at the University of Maryland, in the United States, where I lived for five years after my doctoral thesis. I have participated in several research projects on the activation of immune system cells, especially macrophages, T lymphocytes and neutrophils.
On the personal side, I love spending time with my family and friends, the sea and the mountains and reading. I share my life with a sports journalist who stole my heart on the first day. We are parents of a lovely preteen with whom we share a taste for music, cinema and travel. I have a passion that has been with me since I was little: flamenco. I have danced in several amateur dance companies in Spain and abroad, and I still do it whenever I can.
