Do you know what a rare disease is and what difficulties its patients face? Have you ever heard of Hutchinson-Gilford premature aging syndrome (or progeria)? At CNIC, we want to make you aware of this rare disease and the basic research we do in animal models to better understand why its symptoms occur. The ultimate goal of our research is to help design therapies that improve the quality of life and survival of patients affected by progeria. Jpin us on this activity to learn first-hand from researchers who work on premature aging syndrome and get to know routine laboratory techniques in their research.
