ORVALLE School visits IMDEA Materials

Sixty 2nd year Baccalaureate students from Colegio ORVALLE in Las Rozas will visit the facilities of the IMDEA Materials Institute on 6 March 2023. There they will be able to learn a lot about the wonderful world of materials, how they are studied, designed, manufactured... They will also see how to identify the multiple applications they can have. Researchers from the Institute will show them part of its facilities and will talk to them about how Electron Microscopy works and what it is used for; how composite materials are manufactured and characterised; and the possibility of using 3D printing in aerospace alloys. They will also tell them what it means to be involved in research.
