Did you know that some high-speed trains weigh 322 tons? Or that the trains have an electrical power similar to that of 120 cars? Or how does the Bernoulli principle apply to trains? On the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, on 10 February, the Spanish Railways Foundation (FFE) organizes the talk "Girls and boys with conCiencia de Tren" at the Madrid Railway Museum. In this talk, you will discover things interesting and curious facts about the scientific-technological innovation of the railway. Through games and simple explanations, FFE researchers will show some Spanish railway innovations to make that girls and boys feel like technologists and researchers for a day.
This activity is part of the actions and educational resources that the FFE carries out to publicize the role of women in the railway and promote technological and scientific vocations among girls, boys and young people.
This action is included in the FFE project "Towards STEAM by the Railway" of the STEAM Alliance promoted by the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training from Spain.
