The summer of 2022 can be an example and a small-scale preview of the real implications of climate change: unprecedented heat waves in terms of duration and intensity, forest fires with a record number of burned hectares, droughts of an intensity that was not seen in recent years.. Climate change is serious and is accompanied by extreme events that have a clear impact on health and whose consequences are reflected in the increase in mortality and hospital admissions
This scientific dissemination activity will deal with the risks that climate change has on health, and will focus on the phenomenon of heat waves: how they are defined, how they affect, how the impact it has on mortality and income can be calculated, which are the population groups at greatest risk... In addition, adaptation to high temperatures will be discussed and whether Spain has the necessary tools for this adaptation
