The Fifth Generation of mobile communications, 5G, is being deployed in our country by the most important operators. However, there is a lot of misinformation and false expectations about what 5G is and how it can contribute to our well-being. This activity begins with a sharing with the attendees about what they know about 5G, to highlight those doubts that are more frequent. Next, the researchers of the TeamUp5G project will give information for the attendees so they can answer themselves and jointly acquire greater knowledge on the subject. The features will be accompanied by demonstrations of the most important concepts in radio and visible light (LiFi) communications.
This activity is carried out within the framework of the TeamUp5G project, a European Training Network (ETN) within the framework of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Innovative Training Networks (MSCA ITN) of the Horizon 2020 framework program of the European Commission (GA 813391). It will propose metrics and develop new algorithms and protocols to improve the so-called small cells in ultra-dense deployments for 5G.
