Cancer survivors are at increased risk of cardiovascular complications. One of the most frequent is the development of chronic heart failure as a side effect of chemotherapy with anthracyclines. The European project RESILIENCE, led by the National Center for Cardiovascular Research (CNIC), is studying a non-invasive intervention with innovative technology that could protect the heart against the toxic effects of chemotherapy. In addition, this project uses state-of-the-art imaging technology to study very precisely the function of the heart in these patients. In this activity, the technologies used for treatment and visualization of the heart will be presented.
The coordinator of the RESILIENCE project and Scientific Director of CNIC, Borja Ibáñez, will present this topic from a close perspective for all audiences.
