You will discover where the micro and nanoplastics present in the environment come from and you will identify their relationship with the water cycle and human activities. You will understand the importance of rational consumption and sustainable management of the plastics we use. During the demonstration, we will connect everyday plastics with micro and nanoplastics occurring in the environment. We will identify through a graphic illustration their sources and fate in the environment. We will use microscopes to see the different shapes and sizes of microplastics and a model to visualize soil contamination by these tiny particles. Activity carried out with the collaboration of the following projects and grants: µNanoCare project: RTC2019-007261-5 funded by MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033 nanoCLEAN Project: PID2019-111519RA-I00 funded by MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033 PAPILLONS: This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 101000210 IMPASSE project: Grant PCIN-2017-016 funded by MCIN/AEI /10.13039/501100011033 and co-funded by the European Union
