GSK| Have fun with science by discovering the states of matter

Do you know liquid nitrogen’s temperature? Have you ever seen a non-newtonian solid? Are you fed up of asking for money to buy slime and you want to prepare it yourself? If you want to answer all these questions join our activity. Together with a group of researchers, we will do different experiments with the states of matter as common thread . The main objective of this activity is to share, in a fun way, concepts like solid, liquid, gas and more… through different experiments using liquid nitrogen, dry ice and other materials. During the event we will invite you to join us in doing two easy experiments at home that will delight the young ones and elder too. Materials for the experiments: cornmeal, white glue, liquid laundry detergent (liquid), liquid for contact lenses, sodium bicarbonate and water. Optional: food colouring, purpurin. Additionally, you will need a medium-size bowl or similar to prepare the mixtures. We hope to see you in the Researchers Night and remember with patience and some water everything can be cleaned up afterwards.
