We will open the activity with a brief talk by Dr. Pilar Cubas, Scientific Researcher in the Department of Molecular Plant Genetics of the National Center for Biotechnology-CSIC. Dr. Cubas studies the molecular mechanisms that control plant architecture and how to modulate them to improve production in species of agronomic interest.
Later, we will lead a series of online workshops that participants can do from home. Through simple experiments, they will learn to identify pigments in vegetables, they will be able to extract and use them as chemical indicators, and they will be taught how to make sourdough and its significance in fermentation. It will be necessary to register in advance in order to have the protocols and the list of materials necessary to carry out the experiments from home.
