The main purpose of this event is to show the Plataforma Solar de Almería (PSA) to the public. This Spanish R&D facility is currently the most complete public R&D center in the world dedicated to concentrating solar technologies and their applications, both thermal, electrical and photochemical. The PSA is located in the southeast of Spain, in the municipality of Tabernas (Almería), on a plot of 104 Ha. The PSA is made up of large experimental facilities, such as the CESA-1 plant and the DISS plant, and a large number of laboratories ranging from solar reflector characterization to advanced chemical analysis. Some of these laboratories are located at the CIEMAT headquarters in Madrid. Together, these experimental plants and laboratories make up the world's largest public R&D center in the field of concentrated solar energy, placing Spain at the forefront of R&D in this field.
