“Hydrogels as filters for water decontamination”

In the activity to be carried out, the swelling properties of polymeric materials based on hydrogels will be observed. These properties are extremely useful in removing contaminants such as textile dyes from water sources. The swelling capacity of hydrogels in different media and the uptake of dyes from water solutions will be demonstrated; as a preliminary demonstration of the application of these materials in the decontamination of natural aquifers.
