The process that leads to the deconstruction of wood in its components for the production of bioethanol and other chemical products will be shown schematically. The presentation will show the steam equipment explosion and the biotechnological process (fermentations) necessary to generate coproducts of value and their respective uses and importance. Research potentialities will also be discussed.
