The CRISPR-Cas gene editing technique is a tool that allows editing, cutting and modifying DNA. This technique leads to changes in genetic information quickly and efficiently, correcting in this way genetic alterations. For this reason, CRISPR-Cas technique is considered one of the greatest advances in the history of molecular biology. Dr. Lluis Montoliu, researcher at the National Center of Biotechnology (CNB, CSIC) and Research Center on Rare Diseases (CIBERER-ISCIII) will be talking about this technique. The talk will be followed by a workshop in which participants will be able to extract and isolate a sample of their own DNA.
