We will spend the European Researchers Night in the CEU Institute of Technology Building Structures lab, learning about the behavior of tall buildings structures under earthquakes effects. We will use a machine that reproduces seismic movements, and we will test anti-seismic devices in models of towers 6.5 feet (2 meters) tall. The models will be made of K'nex pieces. The activity will help us learn how we can conceive anti-seismic strategies used in real buildings.
